About Tom Trese

A direct-hire search firm in Dallas-Fort Worth, recruiting NETA certified testing technicians nationwide, with manufacturing, IT and construction searches alongside.

Tom Trese

From the Navy to Cisco to the Testing Floor

Tom Trese trained in the US Navy's Advanced Electronics Program, joined EDS in 1993, and spent 21 years at Cisco. In March 1996 he became CCIE #1865 after a two-day hands-on lab exam. He knows what a hard technical certification costs and what it's worth on the open market.

He opened Tom Trese Networking in 2020. In 2026 he began recruiting NETA certified electrical testing technicians full time, as data center construction pushed demand past what job boards could supply. Within months there were 30-plus live technician openings and nine placements with three accredited testing companies.

Manufacturing searches, from CNC machinist to plant operations manager, continue across Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.

Other industries come up too. Field service openings are a particular favourite, and there have been placements in healthcare, HR and accounting.
